03/2019~04/2019 Color Palette

Theme: Nature

The 03/2019~04/2019 theme for the bi-monthly project is Trash Art. Impending dangers of excessive trash to our environment often makes us forget the significance of nature to us. See how this color palette relates to the theme of Nature

  • Overall, the color scheme is very calm and tone down in colors. These colors are intended to portray the view inside a forest.

 

  • 356C & 5545 C are two shades of green, however, 356 C is a more vibrant green than the rather ash green 5545 C color. While 356 C brings a sense of vitality, like the leaves of a tree to the color scheme, 5545 C balances out its energy by providing a calm atmosphere

  • 7561 C is a light-toned brown​, like the color a tree's trunk and branches. It also balances the overall color scheme of the two green colors and the green yellow and light yellow colors of 104 C and 1205 C.

  • 1205 C is the lightest color of the palette. It lightens ups the overall color scheme and adds a sense of comfort of the darker tone downed green and brown colors,

12/2018~01/2019 Color Palette

Theme: Dream

The 12/2018~01/2019 theme for the bi-monthly project is Superheros in Our World. We often associate the existence of Superheros to our dreams. See how this color palette relates to the theme of Dream

  • Overall, the color scheme is very light, with many milky colors. These colors are intended to give a tranquil feeling of flying through the clouds in the early morning when the sun is at the brink of sunrise

 

  • 2037 U, 907 C, are both colors of pink, yet give a different feel. 2037 U is a warmer pink, while 907 C seems like a hot pink color. these colors reflect the pink hues the clouds are painted due to the sun early in the morning. 

  • 2705 C is a middle ground color, between the 2 shades of pink and 2 shades of blue. It provides a good balance of the overall color scheme, making the colors seem complementary than contrasting.

  • the combination of 2705 C, a light purple, 2225 U, a light sky blue, and 3545 C a darker cobalt blue hue, represent the sky of the early morning, as the dark night sky transitions to the bright sky of the morning.

10~11/2018 Color Palette

Theme: Comfort

The 10~11/2018 theme for the bi-monthly project is the New School Year. Comfort is an element we all search for in a new environment and situation. See how this color palette relates to the theme of comfort

  •  172 C, Tumeric, 1365 XGC, and Yellow U are all warm colors of yellow and orange. When seen together, they display gradation, with 172 C being the darkest color, while Yellow U is the lightest

 

  • 172 C and Yellow U are both bright, vibrant colors, inciting a sense of excitement. Tumeric and 1365 XGC are toned down, calm orange hues in comparison. They soften the strong hues of 172 C and Yellow U, and add a sense of comfort and stability to the playful colors of Yellow U and 172 C.

  • Blue 072 C is a vibrant blue, adding a stark contrast between the yellow and orange hues. Its brightness gives adds a sense of playfulness, giving the impression of the sky right before the night comes.

  • When Blue 072 C is compared to the bright color Yellow U and 172 C, it gives the impression of a burning bright street lamp under a slowly darkening night sky. When Blue 072 C is compared to 1365 XGC and Tumeric, it gives the impression of a room with a candle lit up during the evening.
